One man.
One woman.
A past full of lies.

***

That girl, that special girl. The clichéd ‘One Who Got Away’ except she didn’t get away. She was stolen from me. We started off as neighbours but quickly turned into something more. In what felt like a blink of an eye, I found myself in love and then boom. She was gone. After that, my life went down a dark and lonely trail. I joined the club my parents ran from and kept my heart shut off from everyone, never entertaining the thought of a relationship. If I couldn’t have her, I didn’t want anyone.

I’ve been in love and have been loved but all too soon it was stolen from me. More accurately, I was stolen from it and my life hasn’t been the same since. To an outsider, I had it all: money, nice house, friends, anything a seventeen year-old could want, but inside I was dying. I hated my life with my parents until him and I hate the life I’m forced to live now but I just can’t bring myself to end it. Not if there is a possibility that he is out there and that one day I might have the chance to see him again.

What happens when Nancy and Bennett are reunited once again?
Will Nancy’s past ruin the still present chemistry between them or is it already too late?
Will Bennett be able to see past her secret and find a way to forgive Nancy?

I was really looking forward to this book. I have read  and loved all the others in the series. This book, however, isn't my favorite of the series. I rated it 4 stars though, because I loved learning the story behind Bennett and seeing him get his second chance with Nancy.

There were just so many parts of this story where I was expecting action and/or emotion that just wasn't there. For example (slight spoiler, but not much), when Bennett sees Nancy for the first time in 5 years, he hardly has any reaction. Yes, she is in danger, but there is no "OMG it's you" moment. Then she goes with one of the club members and Bennett goes to be alone for a while. I would have expected him to go with her or for her to put up a fight to go with a stranger, even if it was one of his friends.

There were several plot events that I just didn't see coming. There were secrets being kept that I thought I knew but was so wrong about. These things are what kept me reading. I loved seeing Nancy fitting in with and becoming a part of the women of The Last Hangman. In each book, the group of characters I love grows a little more.

The Last Hangman MC Series

Saving Ayden (Last Hangman MC #1)

Ayden and Anthony have been best friends forever. They did everything together and grew up around The Last Hangman MC. They've stuck together through the good and the bad, realizing that what they feel for each other is so much more than friendship. They confess their feelings and start dating but their happiness is short lived.

Ayden's life is changed in an instant...One minute she thinks everything is perfect, that she found her happily ever after and the next minute her whole world comes crashing down, forcing her to leave New Orleans.

She starts a new life in New York but realize it's not enough. She needs to go back to her roots, even if it means going back where the MC is.

Anthony let Ayden leave six years ago.

He's always regretted it and seeing her again confirms how much he wants her and needs her in his life.  He'll do all he can to have Ayden back and get the truth about why she took off years ago.

What happens when her past catches up with her and starts messing with her life again?

Will she give into the fear of what took place that night might occur again? Or will she trust Anthony and let him help her get through it?

What happens when she finds out who is behind all the bad things she went through in the past? Will she be strong enough to handle the truth? Or will it destroy her beyond repair?

Teaching Aleck (Last Hangman MC #2)

Aleck Sanford had everything growing up, absolutely everything, except for the one thing he and his sister desired the most: the love of their parents. After many years of emotional neglect, Aleck only understood the love between siblings, his parents certainly didn’t love them or even each other.

How do you pick yourself up when everything around you falls apart? When the only person to love you has to leave?

Everything changed when he met Charline Dane. Still affected by his past, Aleck doesn’t understand or do relationships but he wants her. He just doesn’t know what to do about it. When Charline’s past catches up with her Aleck is forced to make a decision: fight or flight?

Will Aleck finally give into his feelings for Charline and save her before it’s too late or will their pasts get in the way? Will they both be able to overcome history and start anew?

Healing Gabe (Last Hangman MC #3)

From the day he was 18, Gabe’s life changed drastically. He lost both of his parents in a tragic car accident and had to raise his 8 years old sister, Nicole.

All he wanted to do was party and enjoy his teenage life and go to college. Instead, he had to mature really fast, find a job that would allow him time with his sister but also bring enough money to keep a roof above their heads, pay the bills, feed them and make her happy.

As if things weren’t bad enough, Gabe finds himself in the middle of two clubs at war. On one faithful night, he meets the one woman that will hold his heart forever, becomes the target of the most vicious MC around Louisiana and becomes a prospect for the Last Hangman.

What happens when the love of your life is taken from you and you have to witness her horrible demise?

Trusting Nicole (Last Hangman MC #4)

Jason Sanders hasn’t had the easiest of lives. Growing up he had all he could ever want, except for two very important people: his parents. The day he lost them was the day his life became a chaotic mess. A mess that still haunts him today.

Due to his association with three of the most prominent MCs in Louisiana, the entire New Orleans Police Department suspect him to be a corrupt cop, little do they know what’s really going on behind closed doors.

At the start, he hated every single biker. They had made his existence a living hell for the past four years. Now? Now, they have fast become a permanent fixture in his life and are the closest thing to a family he’s had since that day.

Thanks to her big brother, Nicole Lyle grew up surrounded by the Last Hangman MC and loved every second of it. They were always there for her, supporting her, protecting her, except for one night. One disastrous night causes Nicole to do the one thing she never thought herself capable of, causing her life to become a devastating mess. A mess she wishes she could have avoided.

What happens when Jason and Nicole’s pasts catch up to them and threaten to ruin their futures?

How will Nicole’s older brothers, Gabe and Aleck, cope with the details of their younger sister’s torrid past?

Will Nicole be able to help Jason heal or is he beyond fixing?

Will Jason be able to take a leap of faith and trust Nicole?

A Merry Last Hangman MC (Last Hangman MC #4.1)

Ever wondered what the Last Hangman get down to during Christmas?
Here is your chance to find out.
Catch up with Ayden & Ant, Line & Aleck, Viv & Gabe, Nicole & Jase.

Muriel Garcia was born and raised in Belgium. She started writing a little over a year ago and never thought she would ever publish; reading and writing weren’t her favorite things to do in high school.
After one of her friends gave her a challenge – the next time they would attend a book signing, she would be a signing author (it did happen!) – she started to take writing a lot more seriously and never looked back. She’s enjoyed every second of it and the friends she’s made along the way.
She loves music, tattoos—especially on hot men, traveling, and cooking. She has always had an overly imaginative and creative mind but never thought of putting words to paper. Now she couldn’t imagine not writing stories that are near and dear to her heart.
