When I Fall by J. Daniels Release Day Blitz with 5+ star review and Giveaway

Title: When I Fall
Series: Alabama Summer #3
Author: J. Daniels
 Release Date: March 17, 2015

From NY Times and USA Today Bestselling author, J. Daniels

Book three in the Alabama Summer series.

For the past nine years, I’ve kept my heart as far away from my dick as possible.

Those two can’t be anywhere near each other. They don’t play nice, and one of them undoubtedly winds up getting hurt.

Not my dick. My dick is good.

The women I take home know exactly what they’re getting from me—sex.  Nothing more. At least, that’s what’s supposed to happen. The sweet  brunette from Kentucky I set my sights on tonight shouldn’t have been  any different. I had her right where I wanted her. Where I needed her.  But when my past comes walking into McGill’s pub, the woman in my arms  decides to take things to a whole new level, putting me into a situation I never saw coming.

My heart is about to get fucked. My dick can sit this one out.

*** Warning: This book is recommended for readers over the age of 18 due to strong language and explicit sexual content.
When I Fall can be read as a standalone novel.

First off, I agree that this amazing book can be read as a stand alone. I have read book one, Where I Belong, but have not read book 2, All I Want.  At no point did I feel like I was missing part of the story or the connections between the characters. Ben and Luke make appearances as Reed's friends off and on. Their women are mentioned, but they are not the focus of the story at all. I didn't realize this was even a part of a series until after I read it when I was starting this review. I just knew I had read others by this author and wanted to read more.

One thing that surprised me was how quickly Beth fell for Reed given that she is just leaving an emotionally abusive relationship.  To me, it showed how strong the attraction was. It was obvious that they needed each other. Their attraction was instant, he was drawn to her like a moth to light.

The interaction between the two was addicting. I loved their witty comebacks and all the sexual tension you could feel pouring off the page. I loved watching their relationship develop into something beautiful.

My favorite scene was a very emotional one for Ben where he expresses just how devastated he would be if something were to happen to Mia. I don't want to give too much away, but you'll see just how great that scene is when you read it. That scene brought tears to my eyes and Ben isn't even a character you see much in the story to feel a strong connection to.

I don't think I can say enough about the wonderful love story. The characters were realistic, the writing was superb, and the plot was addicting. It's was one of those books that when your done, you breathe a deep sigh and smile as you hug your kindle, remembering how wonderful perfect love is.

Now I'm off to read All I Want, while I wait patiently for more from this talented author.
