Beautifully Damaged by L.A. Fiore Re-release Blitz with Review and Giveaway

Title: Beautifully Damaged
Series: Beautifully Damaged #1
Author: L.A. Fiore
 Re-Release Date: March 25, 2014

This edition of Beautifully Damaged has been extensively revised and includes new scenes.

Ember Walsh is a trusting soul with the quiet beauty of her late mother, who perished in a mysterious car crash when Ember was three. A little tomboyish from being raised by her father, Ember packs a punch when a stranger gets pushy with her in a bar, catching the steely blue eyes of a tall, gorgeous tattooed man—Trace Montgomery. Still damaged from her last disastrous relationship and warned off the bad boy by friends, Ember fights the smoldering heat that Trace sparks in her when he begins shadowing her like a dark angel.

Burdened by a lifetime of horror and heartbreak, amateur fighter Trace doesn’t want to want Ember. His deep self-loathing keeps him from having any meaningful relationships, but Ember is an itch he can’t scratch. The two push and pull, slowly crumbling their walls, seemingly brought together by fate, because the turmoil that haunts their pasts is interlinked in undeniable ways. But can these two fighters finally lay down their arms?

In Beautifully Damaged, L.A. Fiore delves into deep scars and lets love and forgiveness uncover redemption.

First off, please note that this is a RE-RELEASE. I admit to not noticing that when I started reading and was really bothered when this story line matched so closely to another book I swear I had read but for the life of me, couldn't remember the name of it. There were just enough changes in the book to make me question myself though. I was planning on spending my Sunday searching for the book it resembled. Luckily, I found out it was actually released earlier and that I had bought it and read it in January.

Several of the reviews I read this weekend mentioned spelling and grammar errors. This newly released copy I have didn't have errors (OK, there might be a couple, but not enough to irk me). Please keep that in mind when reading the reviews. The newest version was released on March 25, 2014. Any review before that was for the earlier version.

Even though I realized I had read it before, I just couldn't put it aside until I had finished it. It was even better the second time. I just loved Trace and Ember. They are perfect together. Trace is so damaged by his past he won't let anyone get close, but Ember sees something in him and she won't give up on him that easily. She wants to know the man he doesn't want anyone to see. There was more to Trace's run ins with Ember too. Something I totally didn't expect.

I love stories of people with pasts they need to overcome like this one. However, this one also added another favorite element, a crime that needed solved. The twists and turns in the plot kept me awake way too late but I just couldn't stop reading (yes, even the second time through).

There is another book in the series, Beautifully Forgotten, being released in September. I have already pre-ordered mine.
